This past weekend I had the extraordinary privilege of putting on two events in West Wales, where I was born and raised. It was excellent taking the book tour home, to perform in front of friends and family, right where the heart of my book, ‘Son of Prophecy: The Rise of Henry Tudor’, is set.
Carmarthen is where Edmund Tudor died on 1 November 1456, and Pembroke, of course, is where his son Henry Tudor was born on 28 January 1457 - Edmund didn’t survive to see his boy be born. That said, considering the mother Margaret Beaufort was only 12 when she was impregnated by the 26 year old Edmund, I don’t carry much sympathy for him.
Anyway, on Saturday night Carmarthen Waterstones were kind enough to host a ‘An evening with’ event, in which I was questioned by the kind Malcolm Macdonald of the Kidwelly History Society.
