Very good summary of the family politics and Maximilian's self interest in Warbeck's claim.

Loved this format! Thank you for taking us along with you to Vienna and sharing with us its connection with the Perkin Warbeck story. I had no idea that Maximilian was descended of the Lancastrians... The European royals were already so muddled!

Curious. I never knew that Warbeck traveled as far inland as Vienna. How did Warbeck and Maximillian communicate? Do we know what languages Warbeck spoke? With Lambert Simnel the young boy pretender he was from the UK, so to speak so he knew English. If Warbeck is really Prince Richard then even as a 10 year old at the time of his "disappearance" he would have had a few years of good education in most likely French and Latin. If he didn't it shows really how political the support he gains from Margaret of York and Maximillian and subsequently James IV of Scotland truly drove his years long campaign

Do you think Maximilian I believed that Perkin was who he said he was? Your book is currently in the mail, so I haven't read it yet nor formed my own opinion. I look forward to reading the history and learning your views on things!

Very interesting! For decades, I’ve believed that Warbeck was likely Prince Richard. And I still do. But I enjoy any friendly discussion on the topic. The short video clip is a great idea and I hope you produce more of them. Thank you!

Absolutely fascinating. I didn’t realize that Maximillian had a claim to the throne of England. It makes me wonder what his long term plan was, and it makes me realize that depending on his plans, Perkin’s true identity is irrelevant. If Maximillian were able to get Perkin/Richard on the throne, and then Maximillian were to poison him before Perkin/Richard had children, England would be firmly in the Hapsburg empire and the wool trade in the Low Countries would be an economic power house. Perhaps that’s why Perkin/Richard was married to Catherine Gordon; did the Scots want to ensure that England remained an independent country? So thought provoking; thank you!

Fascinating, the agreement to leave everything to Maximillian, can you really see this being honoured as any young man might sign his rights over in order to gain military and financial support?

The three marks letter between Henry 7th and Maximillian is quite compelling and is a genuine letter, but it doesn't say what those marks were. Do we have further evidence of what they were...a York birthmark? It has been suggested that the sqinty hooded eye in the drawing of PW or Richard of England was one of the marks and maybe a York family trait.
