Have to correct you on one thing though. Henry VIII did add a stonking great lion to his coat of arms, as you say but he dropped the Lancastrian greyhound to do so. Appropriate since he was the bloodline of both York and Lancaster. He kept the dragon - although I suspect that was more because it looked badass than because he cared about his Welsh blood!
Elizabeth did care about that though. She was surrounded by Welsh people from infancy - Lady Troy, Blanche Parry, who stayed with her for life and Thomas Parry for instance. Cecil's family were Welsh (Seisyllt) and the Herbert family were much in favour during her reign. She also authorised the first official Welsh bible. She may well have learnt Welsh from Blanche Parry, who rocked her in the cradle, but there is no hard evidence.
This was awesome. Great answers from a true subject matter expert. Thank you! And really appreciate the compassion for the woman who lost her beloved cat.
You don't sound well, Nathen. Recommend bed with Vera, hot water bottle, hot tody with good malt whisky, honey and lemon and cocodamol. Get well soon. Stay warm and get lots of rest.
Terry Breverton wrote a biography of Owen Tudor a few years ago. It's not bad, plenty of sources stated in full but also filled out a bit. I did enjoy it.
Tony Riches wrote a good novel as part of a Tudor trilogy.
There's a romantic trilogy called Owen Tudor, written a long time ago, hard to get hold off and haven't read it so haven't a clue what it's like. I guess it's written in old romantic language.
I have a Book idea.......Daily Wisdom by Vera. Pearls of wisdom and advice by Vera, bits of daily lite humour.

Great video! Thank you for answering my question. I completely understand about not having enough info on him to write a whole book.
