It makes me sad that a number of families have had to sell their estates & family seats throughout the past few decades. I hope that whoever buys this stunning & historic property maintains it for posterity.

Thanks for that mini history of the Inglebys. It really is a shame that these ancient houses are divorced from the families who have owned them for centuries for whatever reasons. Such continuity of occupation disrupted after so long.

Interesting to read this against Annette Laing’s piece today about being posh. The Inglebys seem proper posh, even if they are a bit Catholic!
