Hmm. Just had a thought about Perkin Warbeck and the three marks. The number three may have been a nod to the parhelion effect the 3 suns in splendor that made Edward IV believe that god and the holy trinity were on his side. So maybe “3 marks” was a reference to Perkin claiming kinship with Edward IV
