Hello everyone, how goes it? Or how we’d say in West Wales, ‘alright?’
Hope you’re looking forward to Christmas. Just a quick update to share with you two video interviews I’ve done this week that may be of interest.
The first is a wide-ranging discussion with the excitable lot over at History After Dark, who are definitely a must-follow if you haven’t come across them before. Comprising Dr Kat Marchant, Philippa Brewell and Catherine Ibbotson, HAD describe themselves as not for the faint-hearted, but are hugely knowledgeable about history and not light on the laughs.
You can listen to my chat with them at this link here – The Princes in the Tower HAD
Secondly, I also returned to historian Carol Ann Lloyd’s brilliant Royals, Rebels and Romantics podcast to also touch on the Princes in the Tower, with a bit more emphasis on the part played by their mother, Elizabeth Woodville.
You can view that discussion at this link here – Princes in the Tower RRR
Lastly, I visited the Tower of London last night to attend a special Christmas Choir service in St Peter Ad Vincula Church. Built in 1520, the church is famous for being the final resting place of several significant persons who found themselves on the wrong side of the Tudor crown, including Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard, Jane Grey, Margaret Pole, Thomas More, and John Bishop.
I include some pictures for your pleasure!
If there is anything you’d like to see from this platform, then please do let me know in the comments and I’ll see what I can do.
Hywl, for now.
Love the beautiful photos of the Tower at night. I’m sure being in the chapel for a service gave you goosebumps. Thank you so much for posting. Would you consider a Q&A session focusing on the reign of Henry VII?
I’m enjoying your Substack. I’m waiting on delivery of Henry VII and the Tudor Pretenders. I ordered from an independent bookseller and they aren’t as fast as the big chain that owns everything, but it will get here soon.
Beautiful Tower photos! It looks magical.
